Wedding customs

Since a lot of you probably never attended a German wedding, we thought it might be helpful to provide some guidance on German wedding customs. But no worries! We are not really traditional and there is honestly not too much to keep in mind.

1. Do not wear black or white - The colour black is reserved for funerals and the colour white is reserved for the bride. Hence, you should avoid wearing an outfit dominated by these colours.

2. The first dance - The first dance is traditionally reserved for the bride and the groom. The second one is reserved for the couple and its parents. Only after these two dances will the dance floor be open to everyone.

3. Having fun - Our wedding is all about enjoying yourself and having a good time. And if you don't know anyone, just mingle! We have a diverse group of family and friends and most of the people don't know anyone! Italian wine should make socialising much easier :)
